Citizens' Advice Bureaux

The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers.

Credit Union

SAVEeasy, the Llanelli & District Credit Union was formed in 1997. Since inception it has concentrated on serving the various communities in and around Llanelli, Carmarthenshire according to the declared aims and objectives of its common bond.

Llanelli Disabled Access Group

The aims of the Group are:

  • To ensure as far as practicable that public and private buildings, recreational facilities, streets and shopping precincts are accessible for disabled people to use.
  • To consider the needs of Disabled People in the area and examine the facilities available for them.
  • To encourage and advise on ways and means to improve access to meet the needs of all forms of disability.
  • To bring together the interests of the various groups working for disabled people in the area.
  • To refer the local needs of disabled people to statutory and voluntary bodies to elicit help.
  • To heighten awareness of the continuing needs for disabled people to contribute in full measure to society.
  • To advise Carmarthenshire County Council and other interests in the area in providing facilities for disabled people.

The Group meets to debate a varied agenda of topics affecting disabled people, they also consider recent Planning Applications to ensure applicants have considered the needs of disabled people in their plans. Members of the Group are available on request, free of charge to provide advice on the needs of disabled people and how these can best be provided for.
