Nia Griffith MP is still doing all she can to get post office services back to Felinfoel. You will remember that after the previous postmistress retired, Nia put pressure on Post Office Ltd to find someone who would take on the job. Nia presented Post Office Ltd with a petition containing some 1254 signatures and organised a well-attended public meeting that not only showed the strength of feeling from the residents of Felinfoel but also clearly demonstrated to Post Office Ltd the best reasons for having a post office in the community.

Nia said, “I have again this week been in touch with Post Office Ltd to check on progress and can report that a local business person has put in an application to run the post office.  Post Office Ltd need to perform complex checks and scrutinise the business plan before they can proceed with the application. However I have urged Post Office Ltd to complete their checks as swiftly as they can. Rest assured this is an issue I care deeply about and I intend to work closely with Post Office Ltd to make sure that Post Office services are restored as quickly as possible in Felinfoel.”
