Member of Parliament for the Llanelli Constituency
Nia has served as the Member of Parliament for Llanelli since 2005. Before running for election she worked as a teacher at Morriston Comprehensive School, Gowerton comprehensive School and at Queen Elizabeth Cambria School in Carmarthen. Her interests include cycling, walking, gardening and music.
Nia joined the Labour Party in 1981 and has actively participated as a party member and elected representative. She is also a member of the Co-operative Party and USDAW and NUT trade unions.
